Leaving Employment?

Here are steps to make the transition easier

  1. To resign, two-week notice is required to be eligible to return under Article 9.F. It’s best to keep resignation letters short and simple.  This is not the place to describe your complaints. Send your resignation letter to twoweekpilot@rjet.com.
  2. Your last day of work does not have to be your last day of flying. The Company will honor your last day of work request provided there is no abuse of attendance during the last two weeks. If you do have an absence within the last two weeks, please communicate the reason with your ACP. Consider providing a doctor’s note in accordance with Article 29.A.2.e.
  3. Contact withdrawalcard@local357.org to report your last day scheduled with RAH and request a withdrawal card if desired.   All withdrawal card requests must be in writing and directly from the member. If you belong to another Teamster Local in the future, your withdrawal card could save you money on transfer or initiation fees.
  4. Your health benefits will remain current until the end of the month, provided you had a flying day within the month. If you qualify for COBRA, you should receive information and enrollment forms from the company or their benefits administrator. COBRA provides certain former employees, retirees, spouses, former spouses, and dependent children the right to temporary continuation of health coverage at group rates. Group health coverage for COBRA participants is usually more expensive than health coverage for active employees, since usually the employer pays a part of the premium for active employees while COBRA participants generally pay the entire premium themselves plus administrative fees. It is ordinarily less expensive, though, than individual health coverage.
  5. Travel benefits are shut off on your last day of work. Make sure that your travel companions are home on your last day and ensure you have travel arrangements for your next job. If you will need to commute the day after your last day of work, please communicate this with your ACP to keep your travel benefits active until you have completed your commute.
  6. Workday and email access is turned off after your last day. Print out any information you may like/need before your last day including pay stubs and tax-related information.
